This is a poem about Halloween. It’s also about unhealthy coping mechanisms. I don’t know how to write a description that doesn’t make it seem like a sad poem, but I assure you it is not. Each time I share what I write, I try to make sure it’s something that captures the glimmer of reverie that can sometimes accompany our darkest moments. I suppose Halloween is kind of about that too; maybe that is why it’s my favourite holiday.
