The Athena Collective is excited to introduce you to our newest, clammiest contributor, Brian Palmer.
Brian has spent the last several years working in climate change adaptation and mitigation, focusing on vulnerable communities in developing countries. He previously worked as a food security and environmental action volunteer in Togo, West Africa with the Peace Corps.
Later, as a park ranger he inspired visitors with tours themed on rebellion and unrest on the Boston Harbor Islands, also making appearances as “Clam Boy," teaching about the overlooked mollusks of New England.
Brian is working toward his Masters in Climate Change and Sustainable Development at the University of Cape Town and helping establish an experimental seaweed farm. The ocean is Brian’s favorite place for meaningful play.
Keep an eye out for Brian's first post for The Athena Collective in honor of Ocean Conservancy Week!
